21、 Most young adults prefer to have a separate or independent life from their parents or families as soon as possible. This is because they have strong urge for freedom in doing what they desire.【1】. This should not be surprising since often they, actually not ready mentally although they are physically ready. It’s widely understood that to live independently requires a lot of energy and it’s not easy at all. In this twenty first century, people may need more and more preparation because competition is increasing rapidly.【2】. Therefore, they will not be able to support and fulfill their necessities.
【3】, some young adults may need to take more time to prepare themselves before going out to struggle. Taking time to get more education and living with their families for a longer time may lead them to a better independent life because they will be well prepared for the hard life outside. Still living with families for too long will not be good idea because they could get too used to it and tend to be less independent.
【4】. He or she must decide whether they’re ready to leave their parents to have an independent life or not. The decision will vary from one person to another. A person should judge that he is capable of fulfilling his needs without being dependent on his parents; this indicates that he is ready for his independent life.【5】.

22、Have you ever heard such kind of complaint from the parents that the child is so secretive and never tells them anything? But they seldom realize that they have brought this on themselves.
Parents are often upset when their children praise the homes of their friends and regard it as an evil speaking on their own cooking, or cleaning, or furniture, and often are foolish enough to let the adolescents see that they are annoyed. They may even accuse them of disloyalty, or make some spiteful remark about the friends’ parents. Such a loss of dignity and descent into childish behavior on the part of the adults deeply shocks the adolescents, and makes them decide that in future they will not talk to their parents about the place or people they visit.
Disillusionment(幻灭) with the parents, however good and adequate they may be both as parents and as individuals, is to some degree unavoidable. Most children have such a high ideal of their parents, unless the parents themselves have been unsatisfactory, that it can, hardly hope to stand up to a realistic evaluation. Parents would be greatly surprised and deeply touched if they realized how much belief their children usually have in their character and ability with no fault, and how much this faith means to a child. If parents were prepared for this adolescent reaction, and realized that it was a sign that the child was growing up and developing valuable powers of observation and independent judgment they would not be so hurt, and therefore would not drive the child into opposition by hating and resisting it.
The adolescent, with his passion for sincerity, always respects a parent who admits that he is wrong, or ignorant, or even that he has been unfair or unjust.
Parents in Victorian times believed that they kept their dignity by holding an unreasonable authoritarian attitude. The adolescent at that time tended to go to the other extreme though today we will bravely respond to the parents in some way. On the whole this is a healthier attitude both for the child and the parent. It is always wiser and safer to face up to reality, however painful it may be at the moment.

23、It’s 5:00 in the morning when the alarm (闹钟) rings in my ears. I roll out of bed and walk blindly through the dark into the bathroom. I turn on the light and put on my glasses. The house is still as I walk downstairs while my husband and three kids sleep peacefully. Usually I go for a long run, but today I choose my favorite exercise DVD, Insanity. Sweat pours down my face and into my eyes. My heart races as I face my body to finish each movement. As I near the end of the exercise, I feel extremely tired, but a smile is of my face. It’s a smile because the DVD is over, but a smile of success from pushing my body to its extreme limit.
Some people enjoy shopping, smoking, food, work,or even chocolate. But I need exercise to get through each day. Some shake heads when they see me run through the town. Others get hurt when I refuse to try just one bite of their grandmother’s chocolate cake. They raise their eyebrows, surprised by my “no thank you,” or by my choice to have a salad. Over the years,I have learned it’s okay to just say “no.” I shouldn’t feel sorry for refusing food that I don’t want to eat.
So what drives me to roll out of bed at 5:00 a.m.? What gives me the reason to just say to ice cream? Commitment. A commitment to change my life with a way that reduces daily anxiety, increases self–confidence and energy, extends life and above all improves my body shape. This is the point where a smile appears on my face as I look at myself in the mirror or try on my favorite pair of jeans that now fit just right. It’s through commitment and sweat that I can make a difference within myself inside and out.
【1】Why is there a smile on the author’s face in the morning?

24、 XINHUA Homepage — The China National Space Administration made public the first high-definition (高清) pictures of Mars taken by the nation's spacecraft on Thursday morning.
The pictures — two black-and-white — were shot recently by China's Tianwen 1 robotic probe when the spacecraft was travelling in Mars orbit, according to the administration.
The two black-and-white 7-meter images were taken by the high-definition camera on Tianwen 1's orbiter (人造卫星) when the probe was about 330 to 350 kilometers above the Martian surface. Mountain ridges and sand dunes on the red planet are clear on the pictures.
Tianwen 1, the country's first independent Mars mission, was launched by a Long March 5 heavy-lift carrier rocket on July 23 from the Wenchang Space Launch Center, kicking off the nation's planet exploration program.
The 5-metric ton probe, which consists of two major parts — the orbiter and the landing capsule — has flown for 224 days and about 475 million km. Currently, it is about 212 million km away from Earth. It entered its preset parking orbit above Mars on Feb 24 and would fly in this orbit for about three months before releasing its landing capsule, said the administration.
The Tianwen 1 mission's ultimate goal is to land in May or June to conduct scientific surveys. Weighing about 240 kilograms, the rover has six wheels and four solar panels and is able to move 200 meters per hour on Mars. It carries six scientific instruments including camera and is expected to work about three months on the planet.
Tianwen 1 is the world's 46th Mars exploration mission since October 1960, when the former Soviet Union launched the first Mars-bound spacecraft. You may contact www.CNSA.com.
