二、阅读理解(共4题,共 20分)

21、On the side of the road in the Hoh Xil Nature Reserve in northwest China's Qinghai Province, you might see a chubby wolf wagging its tail, rolling on the ground in front of the passing cars in hopes of getting a meal. However, it was skin and bones a few months ago. It is said that the old starving wolf was kicked out of the wolf pack because of its poor hunting ability. But that all changed after a passing driver gave it two pies and posted a video of it online in July, which has made the wolf popular, with people rushing to the area to provide it with food.

Since then, the wolf has given up its hunting instinct(本能) and turned to passers-by for snacks that are high in oil, sugar and salt, such as pies, roasted chicken and sausages. Subsequently, more wolves have joined this behavior. The wolfs change has led many netizens to find humor as they are actually acting like pet dogs. However, the change means that it is losing its ability to survive in nature, which is extremely dangerous to wild animals.

“Wolves are part of the food web in the ecosystem, and as people continue to feed them, their habits will change, which will disrupt their role in the ecosystem and affect the stability of the ecosystem,” said Qi Xinzhang, deputy head of the Xining Wildlife Park in the province.

Although wolves sit near the top of the food web, their kill rate is only 14 percent. They don't eat every day. Instead, they live a life of feast or famine, and hunger is their norm.

So far, some parts of the country have enacted laws and regulations prohibiting the feeding of wild animals. Shanghai municipal government implemented regulations on October 1 this year, prohibiting the feeding of wild animals. On October 16, a newly revised wildlife protection law in southwest China's Sichuan Province made it clear that feeding and driving away wild animals are prohibited while observing and photographing them.

【1】Why was the wolf kicked out of the wolf pack?

A.His old age.

B.His skinny body.

C.His poor hunting ability.

D.His popularity on the Internet.

【2】Why shouldn't tourists feed wild animals?

A.Because wild animal may attack humans.

B.Because wild animals don't like the food.

C.Because wild animals don't have to eat everyday.

D.Because feeding wild animals will affect the ecosystem.

【3】What do we know about wolves from this passage?

A.They live like dogs.

B.They can always find something to eat.

C.They are at the bottom of food chain.

D.They don't often succeed in hunting.

【4】What can we infer from the last paragraph?

A.People are taking actions to protect wild animals.

B.People shouldn't observe and photograph wild animals.

C.Laws are newly introduced to protect wild animals recently.

D.People can feed wild animals outside Shanghai and Sichuan.

22、I am an Africa wildlife filmmaker. But wildlife filmmakers from Africa are rarer than mountain gorillas(大猩猩). To understand why there are so few, we need to remember our recent history.

When the colonialists(殖民者) ruled Africa, they seized control of the continent’s wildlife and other natural resources. They saw African wildlife as “big game” and the continent’s first protected natural areas were game reserves created by driving away locals for the benefit of white hunters. Later, game reserves were renamed national parks and big game hunting gave way to wildlife tourism. But African wildlife was still there for White people’s enjoyment and benefits.

That locals could have an interest in preserving wildlife for its own sake was rarely considered. Africans -like me who tried to get involved in wildlife conservation were made to feel out of place. When I was first interviewed by a British film crew, my interview was cut at the editing stage and replaced by a white man, just because I was an African.

Africa was the setting for some of the most popular films about wildlife, but these films were made by western-owned production companies for Western audiences, and most Africans never even got to see them. What Africa needed was to see themselves and their view points in the films. We urgently needed wildlife films made by Africans, about Africans and for Africans. As producer of the documentary TV series “Wildlife Warriors”, I set out to find African conservation heroes who could play a role in the documentary. I soon discovered that we had some talented African filmmakers across the continent.

Today things are changing fast. Companies like National Geographic and the BBC are leading the way with new approaches to global storytelling that deliver diversity and equality. Our African wildlife filmmakers’ mission is to draw on the power of local storytelling to inspire our people to save our continent’s rich wildlife.

【1】Why are African wildlife filmmakers rare?

A.They lack the talent in making films.

B.They live in the shadow of westerners.

C.They are still colonized by the westerns.

D.They aren’t interested in filming wildlife.

【2】What message does the cut of my interview convey?

A.The strictness of the crew.

B.The preference for the British.

C.The prejudice against Africans.

D.The benefits of local communities.

【3】What can we learn from paragraph 4?

A.The locals enjoy wildlife films set in Africa.

B.Africans play a leading role in wildlife film-making.

C.Films made by westerners are the most popular ones.

D.Africans long for having a say in wildlife film-making.

【4】What is the purpose of the author writing the text?

A.To introduce how African wildlife are protected.

B.To urge people to better preserve African wildlife.

四、书面表达(共1题,共 5分)

26、阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

Walter worked for a food store. He carried food to the homes that ordered it on the telephone. He wore the same clothes every day. He walked in a strange way. When we saw him coming down the street with the food, we would stop playing our games and follow him down the street, trying to walk as he did.

Walter did not bring food to our house. Mother was afraid of him. She went to a different store and brought the food home herself. When Grandmother came to live with us, things changed.

Grandmother liked all sorts of people. During her life, she had made friends with men who drank too much. women who ate too much, and people who were just very lonely.

Grandmother liked people for what they were. If she knew a man who drank too much, she would not tell him to stop drinking. She would tell him how to drink and still be a gentleman. The important thing to Grandmother was that things were done well in the right way and with control.

When Grandmother learned about Walter, she told my mother she wanted Walter to bring food to our house. Mother, of course, was strongly against it. But in vain.

The first time Walter came to our house, they became very close. He told Grandmother he wanted a real friend but did not know how to make friends. Grandmother seemed pleased, and she began to read books to Walter, a little from a book each time he came. The first book was called How to Dress When You Go out With a Friend. The next one was about the problems of early friendship and how to become better friends. Walter seemed to enjoy the readings. At least he listened.

Grandmother almost finished reading one day when Walter stopped her.

“Mrs. Gorman, I have a real friend,” he said. “I like her very much.”

“How wonderful!” Grandmother answered. “I hope you brush your hair and wear a coat when you see her. And you must promise me that you will always be a gentleman.”

注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;

2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答,

The next book Grandmother read to Walter was How to Respect Your Friend.
