27、There’s no doubt that one of the greatest human achievements is the exploration of the space. Ever since astronaut Yuri Gagarin became the first person to be sent into the orbit around the moon in 1961, scientists have been pushing the boundaries further and further. But until now the exploration into the unknown has been dominated (主导) by men.

Of course, in the past, women were also included in the space projects and played an active role on the ground and behind the scenes. For example, they worked as seamstresses (女裁缝师), sewing vital spaceflight components. In fact, many of NASA’s key works would never have been possible without them. Recently Hollywood produced a movie called Hidden Figures to focus on a group of American female mathematicians, especially the black women, who helped NASA send the first American into space. But this was not women’s only contribution. Back in 1963, Soviet astronaut Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to be sent into space. However, after that, space flight programs were slow to employ women. In the USA. NASA didn’t accept applications from women to become astronauts until 1978.

But attitudes have changed and leading officials at NASA say that the first person to set foot on Mars should be a woman. The space agency aims to have a sex-balanced workforce but can only achieve that if equal numbers of men and women are trained for science and technology jobs. As Allison McIntryre told the BBC, “My director is a woman. We have female astronauts. We haven’t put a woman on the moon yet. And I think that perhaps the first person to step on Mars should be a woman.”

28、   The idea of turning recycled plastic bottles into clothing is not new. During the past five years, a large number of clothing companies, businesses and environmental organizations have started turning plastics into fabric to deal with plastic pollution. But there’s a problem with this method. Research now shows that microfibers (微纤维) could be the biggest source of plastic in the sea.

Dr. Mark Browne in Santa Barbara, California, has been studying plastic pollution and microfibers for 10 years. He explains that every time synthetic (合成的) clothes go into a washing machine, a large number of plastic fibers fall off. Most washing machines can’t collect these microfibers. So every time the water gets out of a washing machine, microfibers enter the sewer and finally end up in the sea.

In 2011, Browne wrote a paper stating that a single piece of synthetic clothing can produce more than 1,900 fibers per wash. Browne collected samples (样本) from seawater and freshwater sites around the world, and used a special way to examine each sample. He discovered that every single water sample contained microfibers.

This is bad news for a number of reasons. Plastic can cause harm to sea life when eaten. Studies have also shown that plastic can absorb (吸收) other pollutants.

Based on this evidence, it may seem surprising that companies and organizations have chosen to turn plastic waste into clothing as an environmental “solution”. Even though the science has been around for a while, Browne explains that he’s had a difficult time getting companies to listen. When he asked well-known clothing companies to support Benign by Design, his research project that seeks to get clothes that have a bad effect on humans and the environment out of the market, Browne didn’t get a satisfying answer. Only one women’s clothing company, Eileen Fisher, offered Browne funding.

29、More and more consumers across the country are using cashless payment methods. The rapid development of third-party mobile payment tools is helping to encourage cashless payments across the country, said Dong Ximiao, a researcher at the Renmin University of China.

Although there were 3. 4 billion third-party payment accounts(帐户)in total in China in 2016 . China is not the first country to seek a cashless society. Developed states like Sweden , Denmark and Singapore are also seeing that increase.

However, the rapid development of cashless payments does not mean there are no challenges and criticisms. Alibaba's Hema store has come into the spotlight recently. Media reports said that consumers can’t   buy goods with cash there, which would be considered illegal.

Alipay and WeChat Pay, the nation's two major third party mobile payment tools, also launched campaigns this month to encourage more people to use cashless payment methods, which caused concern over whether cash will soon disappear.

“Some offline sellers refuse to accept cash, which influences the natural circulation(流通)of cash," said Dong. He stressed that a cashless society would not mean that cash would completely disappear. Also it’s important to remember that nearly half of China's population live in the countries, unable to enjoy innovation (革新)brought by the Internet, Dong said. And when it comes to China's senior citizens most of them prefer to use cash in their daily lives, he added.

“It's ridiculous(荒谬的)to question digital payment tools' contribution to financial development. In the long term, various payment methods will be used by consumers, and merchants should respect consumers' payment habits. Dong noted.

【1】What does the underlined word "that" in Paragraph 2 probably refer to?

A.Economic activity.

B.A large amount of payment.

C.Development of economy.

D.Cashless payment.

【2】Why has Alibaba's Hema store become a focus?

A.It fights against illegal activities.

B.Customers are not permitted to use cash there.

C.It provides comprehensive services.

D.It starts campaigns to encourage mobile payment.

【3】What is Dong Ximiao’s   attitude towards the payment in future?

A.Cashless payment should be limited in the countryside.

B.The innovation from payment is ridiculous in fact.

D.Digital payment should replace cash completely.

【4】What is the best title of the passage?
